Our Veterinarians
Dr Nicole Phillips
Lead Veterinarian BVSc
Dr. Nicole is the Lead Veterinarian at Yarrabilba Veterinary Hospital and has over 32 years of experience in veterinary medicine.
She holds a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (Honours) and has a strong passion for general practice. Nicole has a special interest in animal behaviour and is dedicated to strengthening the human–animal bond.
She believes that understanding both pets and their people is key to providing high-quality, compassionate care. Nicole values building long-term, trusting relationships with her clients and their animals.
Dr Jade Moult
Veterinarian BVSc
Dr Jade qualified in 2017 from Onderstepoort, South Africa. After having worked for a period in both the UK and South Africa, she moved to Australia with her family in 2025.
Passionate about small animal veterinary care, she enjoys a balance of both hospital & surgical cases. Jade has developed an interest in diagnostic ultrasound and is always eager to expand her knowledge in this area.
At home, life is just as lively, exploring all that the beautiful Australian coastlines have to offer with her husband & two young children.
Dr Suki Walton
Veterinarian BVSc
Suki joined us as a new graduate from James Cook University in 2019 and luckily for us, has decided to stay. Suki grew up in South East Asia before giving in to the temptations of Australia’s beaches. She has a particular interest in surgery and is well known as our resident ‘crazy-cat lady’.
Suki is our artist in residence and when not helping your pets feel better she loves to paint and sketch. She is also our flying vet in the making, having just obtained her recreational pilots license.
Dr Kira Hill
Veterinarian BVSc
Kira joined the team as a New Graduate Veterinarian and is excited to support the health and wellbeing of pets while building meaningful relationships with their families. She is passionate about animal health and wellbeing and is committed to providing compassionate, high-quality care while continuing to expand her knowledge and skills.
Kira enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine and values the opportunity to learn from experienced colleagues while building strong relationships with clients and their pets. She approaches each patient with kindness, enthusiasm, and a genuine desire to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Dedicated to ongoing professional development, Kira embraces every opportunity to grow as a veterinarian and is excited to be part of the journey with the pets and families she cares for. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring new interests, and of course, spending time with animals.
Dr Alaric Martell
Veterinarian BVSc
Alaric graduated from the University of Queensland in 2021. Since graduating he has been lucky enough to work and live on the Gold Coast as a small animal veterinarian. He joined our team in 2023 and splits his time between the Pimpama and Yarrabilba clinics. Alaric enjoys working with pet parents to achieve the best quality of care that is right for each patient and their family.
When not at the clinic, he can be found at the gym, in the surf or listening to music.
Dr Maddy Lansdown
Veterinarian BVSc
Maddy joined the team as a new graduate in 2023 after graduating from University of Queensland. After growing up in Brisbane and then studying out at Gatton, Maddy pursued her dream of living near the ocean and moved to the Gold Coast.
Maddy enjoys the variety of work in general practice, with an equal interest in both surgery and medicine. She predominantly works with small animals, however she won’t turn down an opportunity to work with goats, alpacas, sheep or cattle! Maddy also has an interest in shelter medicine and animal rescues, being an avid foster parent and having a rescue dog, cat and chickens of her own.
Prior to working with us, Maddy spent a month in the Cooks Islands volunteering as a vet, and she plans to do many more trips like it in the future.
Outside of her veterinary life, you will find Maddy at the beach, camping or growing veggies in her backyard. To mix it up, Maddy loves all things photography and also owns a videography business with her partner.
Dr Alyssa Woodland
Veterinarian BVSc
Alyssa has joined us as a recent graduate from the University of Queensland. Alyssa was born and bred in Sydney, where she completed a Bachelor of Animal and Veterinary Bioscience at the University of Sydney.
However her love for the ocean and large animal medicine has led her to the Gold Coast where she can pursue both. Alyssa has had previous roles within the industry in livestock research and spent a year in rural NSW improving her knowledge of cattle medicine. She is equally as keen to meet your fur babies in clinic and enjoys small animal medicine as well. Alyssa loves that every day in mixed practice is different and is excited to continue her veterinary journey with Tamborine Mountain Veterinary Group.
Outside of work, you’ll find Alyssa outdoors, whether it’s hiking, snorkelling, rock-climbing or attempting to surf. She’s always seeking out her next adventure, especially if there is water involved.
Our Support Staff
Mikayla
Head Veterinary Nurse
Mikayla completed a Certificate II in Animal Studies as a trainee in 2015 before going on to complete her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2018. She enjoys building strong rapport with clients and takes pride in providing compassionate, high-quality care to patients. Mikayla has a particular interest in surgical nursing and enjoys supporting procedures that contribute to positive outcomes.
Outside of work, Mikayla enjoys staying active through swimming and hiking, and often spends her free time camping.
Rose
Senior Veterinary Nurse
Rose is a senior Veterinary Nurse with a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and a degree in Zoology, bringing together a lifelong passion for animals and wildlife. Fear Free Certified, she is dedicated to making every patient’s experience a calm experience.
Surgical nursing is where Rose truly shines. Whether she is monitoring anaesthesia, assisting in theatre, supporting complex procedures, or ensuring patients receive exceptional perioperative care, and involved in achieving the best outcomes for her patients. She also has a keen interest in pathology and dentistry.
With additional wildlife training and a passion for conservation, Rose particularly enjoys caring for native wildlife and helping injured animals on their journey back to the wild
When she’s not at work, you’ll usually find her camping, travelling, creating artwork, or spending time with her three kids and a house full of pet birds and two very spoiled cats.
Felicia
Veterinary Nurse
Felicia began her career at Yarrabilba as an animal attendant before becoming a vet nurse in 2026.
She has a special interest in hospital patients and loves caring for tricky cases that need extra attention and hands-on nursing. She asks lots of questions and is always eager to learn and grow her skills. In her spare time, she enjoys playing Animal Crossing and shopping.
At home she is proudly owned by her cat, Mouse.
Bree
Veterinary Nurse
Bree started with Tamborine Mountain Veterinary Surgery in 2024 while completing her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. Since achieving her qualification, she has transitioned into a Veterinary Nurse role at Yarrabilba Veterinary Hospital.
Bree loves the fast-paced nature of veterinary nursing, with every day bringing something new and exciting. She particularly enjoys meeting puppies and kittens during their visits and helping pets receive the best possible care throughout their lives.
Having a Kelpie and a Border Collie at home, Bree has a special soft spot for cheeky working dogs. Her furry family also includes two cats, making her home a busy one filled with animals.
Outside of work, Bree enjoys playing netball and spending quality time with her family and beloved pets.
Michelle
Veterinary Nurse
Michelle joined the Yarrabilba Vet Hospital team in 2022.
She graduated from UQ with her Veterinary Technology degree in 2005 and has many years of experience in the veterinary industry. At Yarrabilba Vet Hospital she loves to take care of our hospital and surgical patients.
Her husband and 3 children share her love of animals with a menagerie at home including rescue dogs, guinea pigs, chickens, ducks, a cockatiel and a pet snake.
Melissa
Veterinary Nurse
Mel initially started working at our Tamborine Mountain clinic about 5 years ago, having been working in another local practice while gaining her vet nursing qualification. She moved to join the Yarrabilba Hospital just after it opened and is now one of the senior nurses here. Mel enjoys her varied role but is particularly interested in nursing our hospitalised patients during their stay.
When not working Mel spends time working her two Border Collies Cooper & Ralph. They travel South East Queensland competing in Herding, Agility & Frisbee competitions.
Rachael
Receptionist
Rachael joined our team in 2023, after obtaining her cert IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2019. She has spent the last few years doing office work, but decided to jump back on the horse and change to the industry she is most passionate about. Rach is the proud pet parent of a 10-year-old miniature fox terrier, a 1-year-old poodle and a 1-year-old Stimsons Python.
Jenni
Receptionist
Jenni is one of the friendly faces that greets clients and their pets when they arrive at the clinic. She enjoys building relationships with clients and helping them navigate their pets’ healthcare needs. Whether she is scheduling appointments, assisting with enquiries, or providing a reassuring smile, she takes pride in delivering excellent customer service and creating a positive experience for both pets and everyone who visits the hospital.
Her love of animals and genuine care for people make her a valued member of the team. Outside of work, Jenni enjoys spending time with family and friends and making the most of time with her own pets.
Deb
Receptionist
Originally from the UK, Deb has lived in Australia for many years and has worked as both a nurse and a receptionist in several practices in the Brisbane region. She is now a part-time receptionist at our Yarrabilba hospital.
Deb spends the rest of her time with family & friends and entertaining her young grandchildren.
Sacha
Receptionist
Sacha enjoys welcoming clients and helping their furry family members feel comfortable from the moment they arrive at the clinic. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree and Research Honours in Animal and Veterinary Bioscience and is currently studying a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Southern Cross University. Her passion for animal health and welfare shines through in her work, and she is always happy to lend a hand to the nursing team whenever needed.
Sacha hopes to pursue a career as a large animal veterinarian after graduation. In the meantime, she is enjoying life in companion animal practice and being part of the Yarrabilba Veterinary Hospital family, where she continues to build her knowledge and skills while supporting both clients and patients. Outside of her studies and work, Sacha enjoys spending time with animals and furthering her understanding of veterinary medicine as she works towards her goal of becoming a veterinarian.
Hayley
Animal Attendant
Hayley joined our clinic in November 2025 as an Animal Attendant. She has a genuine passion for caring for animals and takes pride in making sure every patient feels safe, comfortable, and well-loved.
She is currently studying her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and is passionate about expanding her skills and knowledge in the field. Hayley especially enjoys spending extra time giving animals the attention and reassurance they need during their stay.
